Cu-Connect Lighting Control Modules

Cu-Connect LCMs cover every lighting control application – from basic marshalling boxes to fully addressable, connected ecosystems. Simply choose the number of outputs required: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12. As with all Cucumber Lighting Controls products, installation is straightforward. Metal fixing brackets are mounted first, and the LCM securely clips into place. It’s suitable for drop rod, cable tray, slab, or BESA box installations.

Bluetooth® Backbone

Cu-Connect is built on the Bluetooth protocol, ensuring reliability, security, and easy system upgrades. This allows for new features to be added over time without major rewiring.

Effortless Wiring

Only live, neutral, and earth connections are required. The terminals support up to 4mm² cable with loop-in/loop-out capability, and a hinged wiring lid with captive screws speeds up work. No network cabling, permanent live feeds, or switch drops are necessary — reducing labour, material consumption, and complexity, while helping to eliminate wiring errors typical in more complicated systems.

Innovative Connectivity

Luminaires connect through our patent-pending plug-and-socket system, providing a clear visual confirmation of proper engagement — reducing fault-finding time and decreasing arcing risk. Pre-wired plug-in detectors utilise a simple 2‑core cable, reducing core counts and costs compared to traditional systems. Additional sensors can also be integrated into the wider network without a direct physical connection to the LCM.

Flexible Switching

Switching is controlled through the Wireless Switch Interface Unit (mains or battery powered), offering full flexibility — from no switches at all to multiple switches installed wherever needed.

Simple Setup with the Cucumber App

The free Cucumber app makes commissioning fast and intuitive. Automatic DALI addressing eliminates the need for manual input, while flexible grouping accommodates all common configurations. Pre-configured settings can be uploaded for a smooth site rollout.

Maintenance Made Easy

If an LCM needs replacement, simply unclip it from its bracket, unplug the connectors, and plug them into the new unit — no recommissioning required.

Cu-Connect minimises material use with its cable-light design — no switch cables, no network cables, no permanent live feeds, and fewer cable cores and containment.

Built-In Emergency Testing

A standard built-in emergency test relay means no extra permanent live connection is needed. Emergency fittings can be tested without affecting other outputs, triggered via the app or a wireless switch.

Smart Installation Features

A built-in smart button enables quick testing during installation and pre-commissioning, confirming luminaire connections and allowing for temporary lighting at a fixed dim level. An LED provides live status feedback at all times.
